Growing in Grace

Does our church community make a difference? Ever wonder what we can do to reach out to our world at Grace? This Sunday (May 18th) at the Growing in Grace adult class there will be a discussion about Grace’s efforts to reach outside its body with compassion, justice and mercy. We meet Sunday mornings at 9am in the Nina Larson Ministry House. Come join the conversation.

Encouraged by Grace

Who would you really like to affirm and bless through a word of encouragement? There will be a blue card in your bulletin for you to use to write a note of gratitude, encouragement, thankfulness or affirmation to whoever came to your mind in the above question. After you write the card, please drop it in the box at the back of the sanctuary. The cards will be mailed out during the week.

Celebrating Christ in the City

This is a joint event for Northside Covenant churches on June 1, 2008, at North Park University. There will be a worship service at 3:30pm in the Anderson chapel with preaching by Soong-Chan Rah. At 5pm there will be a BBQ. We hope you will join us.

Growing in Grace

How does worship work? Ever wonder why we do what we do at Grace? Come join the Growing in Grace adult class, Sunday mornings at 9am in the Nina Larson Ministry House. We’ll explore the importance of baptism, the reason we attend worship services, the role of communion and much more. This Sunday will be our first meeting of this new series and will focus on how a worship service is formed. It’s a great time to start; we’ll see you there!

Senior Share

A spiritual storytelling group for those over 50. New members are welcome! Come share with others your life stories and how God has been present in your life journey. Our next meeting will be Thursday, May 15, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the Nina Larson Ministry House across from the church building. (4159 N. Monticello Ave.) We will continue to meet every third Thursday of the month through November. If you are interested, contact Renee Roeschley for more details at 773-283-4273.

Faces of Grace

During the next six weeks, we have many exciting events in the life of our local congregation…welcoming New Members, baptizing a new baby, confirming the faith of students, and installing another pastor. All of these events shape our local Christian community.

Beginning this Sunday in worship, we will be highlighting all of the people who make up our local faith community in “Faces of Grace.” We encourage you to connect with others by introducing yourself to someone you don’t know, asking more than just “how are you?” (a standard greeting), or inviting someone to join you for lunch. Having experienced God’s presence, God calls us into a local, Christian community to acknowledge and share his reality with others.

Photographer Needed

Grace Church is looking to create an informal photo directory with pictures of our members and regular attenders. If you are interested in taking photographs or helping as a photographer’s assistant, please contact Heather Yutzy at hsyutzy@gmail.com or (773) 957-6753. Photos will be taken before and after church for several weeks in late May and early June.

Still “Rocking”!

A huge thanks to everyone who helped with the Rock-a-thon. It was a huge success! If you pledged to give money to a youth group student, please do so soon. Thanks!
